British Airways, American Airlines and Virgin Atlantic all offer their loyal customers bespoke memberships, and now Europe’s largest budget airline is launching their own annual subscription for frequent flyers.
Ryanair is expecting at least 100,000 passengers to sign up to “Ryanair Choice” within the first year.
For a yearly payment of £175.00 passengers will receive priority boarding, 10kg checked bag, fast-track airport access and the ability to book the lowest fare but still book assigned seating.
The Irish airlines latest innovation is not expected to come into effect until the end of summer this year.
Ryanair is renowned for its low-cost fares and severe delays but disruption throughout summer 2019 is expected to be worse than last year thanks to a shortage of air-traffic control staff.
Delays and cancellations are happening all to frequently, and passengers should be aware of the compensation they are entitled to. Under an extraordinary circumstance (anything outside of the airlines control i.e. strikes and adverse weather) the airline is under no legal obligation to pay out compensation to its customers. Having said that, if we have a repeat of the Ryanair Christmas holiday booking scandal it will be held responsible and be made to pay compensation.
