As England prepares to end mandatory social distancing and mask-wearing, British tourists are urged to continue following any Covid-19 rules in place at their foreign holiday destination.
While the relaxation of Covid-19 rules and restrictions in England is expected to be announced during a Downing Street announcement later today, the use of face coverings and other mandatory requirements are still imperative to many other countries.
Therefore, any British tourists visiting destinations that enforce mask-wearing and other restrictions must continue to follow the countries local and/or regional guidance.
Anyone who fails to comply with local guidance must be aware that should they be fined, or face any other penalties, that they will not be able to claim any associated costs back through their travel insurance provider. For example, should you be fined £500 for not wearing a mask on public transport while abroad, you will be liable for paying this fee.
Holidaymakers can better understand the restrictions in place at their holiday destination by checking the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office’s (FCDO) advice for the country they are visiting.
