The likelihood of enjoying a holiday in 2021 has suddenly become more realistic as reports of a Covid-19 vaccine dominate the media headlines.
The news comes as the pharmaceutical giant, Pfizer, has achieved a coronavirus vaccine breakthrough which could be rolled out towards the end of the year if it passes its final stage of testing.
Suddenly, the future of travel is starting to look a little brighter and we’re certain that having a vaccine in place will allow us to enjoy the freedom of travelling once more.
However, we hate to rain your parade, but even if we have some form of protection against Covid-19 in place before the end of the year, and are able to travel abroad, our holidays could still face disruption as a result of the end of the Brexit transition period.
As the UK government is yet to reach an agreement with regards to travel to the European Union and the future of the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), it’s more important now than ever to make sure your trip is fully protected against disruption as a result of Brexit.
There are currently a number of policies available within the market that offer Brexit cover, should a no-deal decision impact your upcoming holiday. So, we would strongly recommend that anyone planning on booking a trip in the New Year ensures their trip is properly protected to avoid any disappointment, disruption, or delays!
